UK and European Safety legislation for hi vis safety clothing requires the endorsement of the standard EN ISO 20471, ensuring high‑visibility clothing used in high‑risk environments meet certain safety standards which ultimately helps protect workers. It specifies performance requirements for fluorescent background materials, retroreflective tape, and the minimum visible surface areas required to keep people safe in their work environment.
